dream for the Lord
I went to dig out the songsheet of a particular chinese song this afternoon. I used to sing this song in church years ago. It kinda got archived in my brain until a week ago, a very good friend talked about this song.
I played it on the keyboard and sang, and I just cried.
There were some flashbacks in my head of the past, of the people with whom I had sung this song with, who were my partners in this race, but now they are no longer.
As I went to the chorus, God began to encourage me with the lyrics, that even as I've come to another point of the race whereby I'm seeing some kind of re-enactment of things, but, above all, God is my strength.
I've attempted to translate it, hope it encourages you who is reading this too.
Let's keep pressing in.

Dream For The Lord
The photos of old, depicting our childhood
They record the days of our youth
There was once that we had great dreams in our hearts
To land on the moon
To fly across the Pacific OceanMany years later, we're all grown up
We've abandoned youthful ways and ignorance
But there was once that we had dreamt in our hearts
The dreams which we had once woven
Have we forgotten them? The purpose of our lives is to shine for the Lord
The tears we once shed will make us stronger
The road ahead is still long, don't lose hope now
When times are tough, remember that the Lord is by your side
Let's dream for the Lord, Let's shine for the Lord
Although there are setbacks, but there's no need to lose hope
Because Jesus is my strength, and He will direct my paths
Our days ahead will be bright and sunny, filled with dreams fulfilled
Jia-you. Let's not abandon our passion for God, our yearning to save the lost, our dreams of revival - all cos of adulthood.
I want to remember the dreams and hopes I once had for the Lord, the promises made to God at the many altar calls, the cries that were made in desperation. I want to remember the fiery zeal, the inextinguishable hunger, the longing-for-more-and-more.
Lord, help me to love You undignified, unashamed, relentlessly, uncompromisingly, LOUDLY. Not being the least bothered about what's on my left and right, but focused on YOU.
Let my life be like a praise song that will ring out loud to You. Amen.
